Pennies from Heaven

Just when you think life can't get any better, yet another surprise comes along...  Each morning when I get ready for the day, I find money that has magically appeared on the floor.  Although it is not a large amount, every day seems to bring me another bounty of loot.  Where it comes from, I wouldn't know.  Curtis says it is falling from the Heavens, but I suspect someone is sliding the coins under the door.  Whatever is behind this phonemon, no one seems to know.  All that is certain, is that it is entertaining, and profitable!!  Thank you soooo much for the rain!  Who said living in Hurricane isn't fun!

Durango's

Just when you think Hurricane has maxed out, here comes another surprise!  The big city has welcomed another new restaurant.  This one is called Durango's.  We made the madian voyage this afternoon, and both gave it a thumbs up.  The food was great, and the place was packed.  It's starting to feel like Los Angeles all of a sudden...  No question Hurricane is moving up!!  I love this town!  If I stay here much longer, I may start up a tour guide service..

Big news!

The Panda Buffet  has been a staple for Curtis and myself for some time now.  On almost any day, you can find us scooping up Asian delights, and reading about our futures from prophetic pieces of paper in fortune cookies.  Recently, there was a shock wave felt 'round the valley, as the restaurant has been sold to new owners.  Because we are now considered "valued customers", the new owners come out to greet their new regulars almost daily.  The food seems to be the same, but customer service has picked up.  On occasion, we try and brush up on our Mandarin skills, but there seems to be something lost in the translation.  They do smile a lot however..

Dating

So....   I have finally ventured out into the big world of dating.  It's hard to do, as it's difficult to let go of what once was (Curtis warned me it was really hard..).  My first adventure was to Zion Park.  With such beautiful surroundings, good food, and lots of laughter, trial run #1 went pretty well.  I did experience the world famous Bumbleberry Inn and their wonderful pie.  Springdale is a beautiful little town, with lots of shopping opportunities.  The tunnel was cool (thanks Gramdpa Lee), and the scenery in Zions is breath taking.  The hikes are easy, and we saw several deer and turkeys.  Although contestant #1 did not pass the test, he was a willing contender.  Hard to replace what you love (again, Curtis said it is hard.  How does he know so much??)

My new best friend...

As luck would have it, Curtis has introduced me to a wonderful new friend.   Her name is Joanie.  She is a class act, absolutely beautiful, and the essence of quality.  She is my new best friend...   When she isn't mauling my friend Curtis, she is laughing and exchanging witty banter with her sister in arms.  Can't believe what close friends we have become.  Not only has she befriended me, but has introduced me to a wonderful guy from Las Vegas.  Does it get any better than this??  We are all planning a fun weekend at Curtis's new place September 3rd and 4th.  Normally I would have a photo of just her, but she never leaves Curtis's side.  I keep telling her that Curtis needs to breathe!! lol   Life just gets better and better..

Movies

The surprise of the town is their movie theater.  Modern and realtively new, the Coral Cliffs Cinema is a great break from my real estate courses.  In addition to the regular treats, they sell cotton candy as well.  While it is not my favorite snack, Curtis seems to be addicted to the stuff...  If you catch the early afternoon movie, you are most likely the only ones there.  I like that part..  The only down side, is there are only 8 movies showing here at a time, and it doesn't take long to see them all, especially if you make a day out of it.  My record so far is 4 in one day.  I am liking Hurricane more and more...

Dairy Queen

Along with running, walks, and grocery shopping, stopping in to the local Dairy Queen for a banana split is an essential part of country life.  Cindy and Robin are the resident pro's when it comes to designing the coveted dessert.  Once your order is up, one must select just the right booth to survey the goings on in the big city, as you devour one of lifes tastiest treats.  I have to say that life in the country is not too bad...

The Walk...

It seems the nightly tradition here is "the walk".  Each evening at 6:30pm, Curtis takes a walk around the surrounding neighborhood, to keep up his health.  Along the way, he has made several friends that come running at the sound of his voice.  The new found friends are horses, sheep, a little white dog, and a donkey named Goofhead.  I have been accompanying him for several days now, and the walk is now part of my daily routine.  Goofhead, is a character, as he has to fight off his buddies (a mule and a mini horse) every evening for the apple we give him.  I like my new friends...

Las Vegas

It seems that Hurricane and Las Vegas, Nevada are sister cities.  As I have employed Curtis to be my guide for fun and entertainment, his main focus seems to be 125 miles south to the sights and sounds of his old home town.  I have been exposed to new friends, new places to eat and play, and to new prospects for love.  I can see why Curtis loves Las Vegas.  It may be, that the possibility for me to move there exists as well.  Big C is hoping to move there by the 2nd week of September.  I love to play, and love my new tour guide too...  Wheel of Fortune is my favorite game!! (all of a sudden...).  I have learned that Del Frisco's is way nicer than Sizzler, and Lucielle's beats "Dogwood" hands down.  Who ever said Hurricane was boring???  I love this place!!

Starting over...

Circumstances and life have brought me to the big city of Hurricane, Utah.  It is small town country living at its best!  Life is a bit slower here, and the people are so friendly.  Daily routines here are made up of runs in the morning, walks in the evening, and banana splits in the afternoon.  The local movie theather is a must, and George and Carma couldn't be better.  I have been officially crowned a member of the family.  Curtis is my roomate down the hall, and brings non stop entertainment daily.  He has shown me the finer places to eat (Dairy Queen, Ted & Allens, and the Chinese Buffet), the best cotton candy to buy at the movies, and how to play in Las Vegas.  Life once again, is good!!!
